Its location was spectacular, very close to the church at the top of the hill, the Sasso Caveoso and an otherwise maze of a town. It also was in a cave very much like the area of Matera...

The hotel is excellent and housed in a truly lovely building. Make sure to get double room with superb views and Turkish bath plus bath tub. Guests have all their needs satisfied by the really friendly and excellent staff. The location is MAGNIFICENT, by the church at the top of the hill. Also, it is next to the Sasso Caveoso as well as the centre of the old town.

We absolutely loved the unique setting of this accommodation. Sleeping in a cave was a one-of-a-kind experience that both adults and children enjoyed. the in-cave sauna and steam room were unexpected luxuries that added to our comfort. the breakfast was delicious, with gluten-free options available. the location was perfect for exploring the town of Matera, and the views from our terrace were breathtaking.
Felt like we were in a fairy tale, no complaints.

Spent xmas with family in a hotel that gave us a unique experience of living like ancient Italians. the rooms were beautiful and spacious, with some built into caves. the location was perfect as it was close to key attractions and offered breathtaking views. We also enjoyed the warm hospitality of the staff who were very helpful.
The hotel had some areas that could have been improved. One of the rooms exhibited a slight odor from the ancient plumbing system, but it was manageable by keeping the windows open for fresh air circulation.

The hotel's location in the heart of the old town, near the church at the top of the hill, was absolutely perfect for exploring the maze-like streets of this charming city. We couldn't have asked for a better spot to immerse ourselves in the local atmosphere.
Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect!

Celebrating New Year's Eve at this beautiful bed and breakfast was a fantastic experience! The fresh linens every day and delicious breakfast made to order were a great way to start each day. Our room had a beautiful view that we enjoyed while sipping wine on our little terrace. The location was perfect for all sightseeing and exploring the unique setting. We were also grateful for the attentive and kind staff who made our stay even better!
We only had one minor issue with the lighting in our cave room. The wardrobe area needed more light as it was difficult to see our belongings at night.
